LG Ally Review
LG Ally is the first Android device to boast an Augmented Reality application — currently exclusive to LG. Consumers who purchase LG Ally can download the Augmented Reality app, featuring exclusive Iron Man 2 content, at www.lgim2.com or by texting 95173 from their mobile phone. Present throughout Iron Man 2, LG Ally allows users to explore and experience Augmented Reality through built-in applications and software. A touch screen handset featuring a full slide out QWERTY keyboard, the Ally is the ultimate complement for technology enthusiasts who, like Tony Stark, expect nothing but the best. LG Ally will be available May 20.
According to information about the LG Ally that leaked out earlier, this smartphone will have a 3.5-inch WVGA (800×480) AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera with support for recording high definition (720p) video, 3G, Wi-Fi and a GPS receiver. The LG Ally will reportedly run Google Android OS 2.1 on a 1 GHz Qualcomm snapdragon processor, but use a slightly modified version of Google’s standard user interface. A small image of this UI appears on LG’s teaser web page for this model. A few weeks ago, word leaked out that the LG VS740 had appeared in Verizon Wireless’ product database, along with a mention that it is a Google device. It’s possible this is a reference to the Ally.
